Margaret Rhoer, 88, of Webster City, died Monday, December 29, 2003 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Shelly officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church two hours before the funeral service. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

Margaret Ellen Davis, daughter of Harry and Al Nora East Davis, was born December 3, 1915 on a farm south of Webster City. She received her education in rural schools and in Webster City schools, graduating in 1931. She attended the Webster City Junior College for one year, then taught in a rural school, west of Webster City. On June 12, 1937 she married Henry Harold McCoskey at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City. She was a bookkeeper for McCoskey Plumbing and Heating. Mr. McCoskey died April 24, 1951. She continued to operate the business until it was sold to Glen Madole. On October 8, 1955 she married Carl Rhoer at Webster City. She was bookkeeper and co-owner of Iowa Brass and Specialty Company for 20 years. The business was sold to Ames Plumbing Supply. They retired in 1981 and continued to reside in Webster City. She had resided at Crestview since 2001.

Mrs. Rhoer is survived by her husband, Carl; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Bonnie McCoskey of Chanhassen, Mn., Monte and Shawna McCoskey of Nashville, Tn., grandchildren, Jeff and Sherrell McCoskey of Chanhassen; Kristin and Peter Martin of Eden Prairie, Mn.; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin McCoskey; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Verna Vulgamott and Imogene Bige.

Margaret's memberships included - Asbury United Methodist Church; church choir; taught Sunday School; United Methodist Women; where she served many offices, including president; she was an accomplished writer and was a member of the Quill Club; Chapter J.E. of P.E.O. Sisterhood.
