Mary Lucille Stein was born on Feb. 19, 1924 in Webster City the daughter of Emil and Alta (Blackburn) Pfaffenbach. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth.

Mary worked as a ward clerk at Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City for many years.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City and she enjoyed singing in the church choir.

Mary Stein, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at Crestview Manor. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Walter, and three children. Private family services will be held Saturday in Webster City.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Stein and wife Sandy of Oskaloosa, Dennis Stein and wife Joan of Webster City, David Stein and wife Pat of Dakota City and Tom Stein and wife Sarah of Omaha, Neb., 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a brother, Don Pfaffenbach of Rochester, Minn., and a sister, Annabelle Kiesecker, Webster City.
