Lois Simpson, 74, of Webster City, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.

Lois Lorraine Helton, daughter of Ivan and Esther Graham Helton, was born December 2, 1929 at Pleasanton, Iowa. She received her education from the Davis City and Holden Country Schools. On November 17, 1947 she married James Basil Simpson at Leon. The couple farmed near Leon for five years. In 1952, they moved to a farm southwest of Webster City. They retired in 1978 and moved to Webster City. Mr. Simpson died April 16, 1991.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and John Johnson of Webster City, Janet and Merle Christensen of Iowa Falls, son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Cathy Simpson of Stratford, grandchildren, Rodney, Teresa and Chad Johnson, Kristina Busch, Grant, Mitch and Madison Simpson, Misti Jackson, Jeff and Tony Vanatter and Tina Anderson, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Lloyd Helton of Webster City, sisters, Jean Hatcher and Bonnie Ogland, both of Webster City and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Betty Norem and Shirley Jessen, brothers, Howard, Orval and Dean Helton.

Mrs. Simpson was baptized in the Methodist Faith.
