Roy R. Roe, 86, of Webster City, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003 at the Hamilton Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191.

Roy Robert Roe, son of Cleo and Edith McHone Roe, was born October 18, 1917 on a farm southwest of Boone. He attended rural schools in that area. He moved to Webster City and worked as a mechanic for Perry Williams. On July 19, 1945 he married Winafred Alice Whiteaker at Omaha, Ne. The couple resided at Webster City, he had worked as a mechanic for the Chevrolet dealer and the Kramer Truck Stop. The couple moved to Missouri and worked for Keith Vegors for 3 years. In April of 2003, he moved back to Webster City.

Mr. Roe is survived by his wife, Winafred; daughters and son-in-law, Ann and Delmar Crabtree of Bethany, Mo.; Fay Gothard of Winterset; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Karen Roe, Rene and Kathy Roe, all of King City, Mo.; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Roe of Scurry, Tx.; sister, Mary Brine of Woodridge, Il.; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by sons, Richard and Rex Roe; his parents; brothers, Raymond and Lloyd Roe; sisters, Ida Oakes, Lois Roe, Helen Houseman, Margaret Phillips, Faye Sorenson and Mildred Roe.
