Mary Ruby (Ferguson) Cooper, 92, a recent resident of Canyon Lake, Texas, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003. She lived most of her life in Hamilton and Wright Counties in Iowa. Funeral services will be held later with burial in Cass Center Cemetery, near Webster City.

Mary Ruby Ferguson was born in Milltown, Ind., Nov. 14, 1910, the youngest child of John and Roma Ferguson. The family moved to Hamilton County, Iowa in 1920. Before marriage, she was a country school teacher. On Jan. 23, 1931 she was married to Clare D. Cooper and lived on farms in Hamilton and Wright counties for many years before retiring and moving to Clarion.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosa Cavenee of Canyon Lake, Texas, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clare Cooper, three sons and one daughter, all in infancy, and one daughter, Delma in September, 2003; her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
