F. John Pruismann, 73, of Webster City died Monday, November 3, 2003 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A private graveside service will be held at the Graceland Cemetery, with Rev. Todd Jones officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Webster City Moose at 12 p.m. Friday. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191.

F. John Pruismann, son of John and Tena Rewerts Pruismann, was born February 14, 1930 on a farm south of Stonega. He attended rural schools and graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1947. He started farming with his father. From 1949 to 1951, he served in the U.S. Air Force at Delaware. In 1955, he married Elizabeth Sue Essig at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City, where he farmed, then ran a custom corn shelling and trucking business. To this union a daughter, Peggy was born. The couple later divorced. He was also a partner with his brother in a custom combining business. On May 23, 1973 he married Margaret Phillips Harris at South Dakota. The couple resided at Webster City. He continued in the trucking business.

Mr. Pruismann is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Monte Coleman of Webster City, grandchildren, Erin Coleman and fiance, Rob Adams of Gilbert; Chelsea Coleman of Webster City; great-grandson Dylan Adams; step-children, Richard and Sharon Phillips of Des Moines; Diane and Don Hockett of Loveland, Co., Jan and Jim Hughes of Webster City, Elaine Widmann of Golden, Co.; 8 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Yvonne Pruismann of Webster City, nephews, Mike and Mark Pruismann of Webster City, niece, Rita Anderson of Aplington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #191, Webster City Moose Lodge, Iowa Tractor Pullers Association and the North Central Antique Tractor Club.
