Dorothy L. Berleen, 74, of Webster City, died Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Burial will be in Cass Township Cemetery, northeast of Webster City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday.
Dorothy Lorraine Boswell, daughter of Clarence and Pearl Kent Boswell was born August 20, 1929 at Webster City. She attended Webster City Community Schools. On May 5, 1951, she married John Edward Berleen at Stanhope. The couple resided in Webster City. She worked at Mortons Frozen Foods for 11 years and Webster City Products for 18 years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Berleen died August 1, 1987.
Mrs. Berleen is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Margaret Ward Berleen and Floyd Berleen, all of Des Moines, daughter, Nancy Lake of Webster City; son-in-law, Tom Trinkle of Webster City, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Elnor Glawe of Webster City, Genevieve Lesher of Clarion, Verla and husband, Leonard Carlson of Webster City and her brother Lee Boswell of Norfolk, VA.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Trinkle and son Dennis Berleen; her parents and a sister, Alice Powell.
Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
