Marcia Ann Murphy Carbone passed away after a long illness surrounded by her family in the early morning hours of December 14th, 2022. She was born March 22, 1946, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Robert and Helen Murphy. Marcia grew up in Webster City with her brother, Dick, and sisters, Mary and Jeannie. After graduating from Webster City High School, she and her friend Jean Lyons McCrea embarked on the adventure of a lifetime and moved to Los Angeles.

She met the love of her life, Egidio “Gene” Carbone while at work when she was 19 and they married two years later, on December 23rd, 1967. Together, they raised their children, Karen and Paul, in West Los Angeles, in the home they shared for almost 50 years. After her children were out of college, Marcia went back to school and graduated from CSUN, Magna Cum Laude in 1999. She majored in humanities as she had interest in all sorts of areas, from literature to art history.

Marcia had so many wonderful friends whom she stayed close with until the end. The Blue Plate Girls from Webster City helped her stay in touch with her Iowa roots. She loved her tennis group and enjoyed hiking in the Santa Monica mountains. Marcia loved to be social. She could dance up a storm and loved to laugh.

Marcia is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Gene, daughter Karen (John McIntyre,) son Paul (Lissy,) and her two grandchildren, Kinsley and Grayson, who brought a smile to her face every time she saw them. She is survived by her brother Dick (Marge,) sister, Mary Crystal (Lynn,) Jeannie Miller (Kurt) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to St. Anne’s Family Services (stannes.org) or St. James Inn (stjamesinn.org) or a charity of your choice.
