Diane Kay Jackson Vasquez, 72, of Webster City, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Craig Blaufuss officiating. The burial is to be at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Diane Kay Jackson was born November 25, 1950, in Hampton, Iowa to James Jackson Jr. and Lucille (Root) Jackson. Diane was educated in various schools in Iowa and received her GED from Iowa Valley Community College in Marshalltown. A notable achievement of this was that she was part of the first graduation ceremony for people who earned their GED’s. She also obtained a Ward Clerk certificate from Iowa Valley Community College which she put to use at the Marshalltown Hospital and at Trinity Regional Hospital. She also earned an Activity Director certificate from Iowa Central Community College which she put to use at Crestview Manor in Webster City. Other employment included being a waitress, cook, bookkeeper and along with her husband owned a Country Kitchen and later became the business Manager at Crestview Nursing & Rehabilitation.

On November 29, 1968, she was united in marriage to Raymond Vasquez at The Open Bible Church in Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Her passions were her work, being a mom, NaNA & Great NaNa. She loved spending time with her family and her cat Clark. She loved visiting with other residents at the nursing home.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ray of 54 years of Webster City, son Michael of Webster City, daughter Michele (Steve) of Webster City. Granddaughter Jessica of Webster City, grandson Anthony of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, step-grandson John Woodworth of Garden Grove, California and great grandsons Tristan Tusing and Holden Jergens of Webster City. She is also survived by three brothers, Gary of Marshalltown, Duane (Vicki) of Marshalltown and David of Marshalltown. Other survivors are her sisters by marriage Becky (Rod), Eloise, Lydia (Larry), Irene (Roger), Jenny (Steve) and her brother by marriage, Al. She also has left many nieces, nephews and cousins to mourn her loss and her special fur baby Clark

She was preceded in death by her brother Steven, her mother and father, Lucille and James Jackson, mother & father-in-laws Christine and Cruz Vasquez, sister-in-law Joyce, as well as her many fur babies.
