Nick Seamonds, 43, of Webster City, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for Nick and his family.

Nicholas Brendan Seamonds, son of Donald and Maureen (Chambers) Seamonds, was born February 17, 1979, in Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Webster City Community Schools, fortunate to have the expert guidance of amazing teachers and staff and a program designed to meet his needs. We are forever grateful to Doris Fonken and Pam Samuelson for their patience and commitment to education for all.

He is survived by his parents, Don and Maureen (Chambers) Seamonds of Webster City, sister, Shelley (Bob) Powers of Clarion; brother, Shawn (Deb Whipple) Seamonds of Des Moines; nephews, Sam Powers of Fort Collins, CO, Ben Powers of Chandler, AZ, and Max Powers of Miami, FL and aunts and uncles; Patrick (Sandy Martin) Chambers, Kathleen (Arlin) Dickinson, Joseph (Shelley Johnson), Chambers, Michael Chambers, Bridget (Bryan Gilbert) Chambers, Margaret (Robert Springfield) Chambers, Thomas (Susan Barbieri) Chambers and many wonderful cousins.

Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Alice Chambers and Marion and Bea Seamonds.

Nick was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He loved life and enjoyed time spent with family and friends at the lake. He liked taking car rides, going to movies, community events, shopping, and concerts in the park and even having his own book, “Nick’s Boat,” by J Hendricks. Nick was a thrill-seeker at heart and was up for any fun adventure!

Nick reminds us all to make the most of life but most importantly to just have fun! He is a reminder to us all of the importance of family, friends, and inclusivity.

Nick will be forever missed by those who loved him, those whose lives he touched, and those who experienced his pure joy in living. None of us would be who we are today without Nick’s influence. Nick taught us to really live life to its fullest!

Nick’s team included his friends, Nikki, Ryan and Tyler, Bucky, Jay, Bryan, Terry and the many beautiful caregivers, teachers, medical professionals, and many other friends, who have all given so much to our family. We thank them every day for their dedication. Nick’s life was filled with celebrations, challenges, and the support of many people in the community. We have all learned so much from Nick about what is important in life. We offer grateful thanks to all of you who have loved him and helped us on his journey.

Nick’s greatest gift was finding joy in everything. He reminds us always to find the balance, if you must do a hard thing, remember to take the time to find some fun! Nick’s motto was, “Always take the boat rides of life!” Nick enjoyed a good joke, and he was always waiting for the opportunity to jump into the conversation with a comment. He was a great listener, and we know he travels to Heaven with the secrets of all of us safely in his trust! The best memory of Nick will forever be his joy in racing around the lake in his boat with hair flying; the faster, the better! He amazed us time and again with his courage, strength, and determination.
