Vernon Stuart Gabrielson, 69, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2022 in University Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. Vernon was born July 31, 1953 in Webster City, Iowa to Arlen Gabrielson and Mabelle Staples Gabrielson Romp. He grew up in Stanhope, Hamilton County, Iowa and attended South Hamilton High School in Jewell, Iowa.

Vernon's adventures as an OTR trucker were his happiest times. Vernon suffered a stroke in 2011 that handicapped him greatly with the loss of language being the hardest to overcome. He lived the last decade in Cleveland, OH determined to remain independent and strong. Any opportunity to go fishing sparked excitement and joy.

He was preceded in death by his father. Vernon is survived by his mother, Mabelle (Wayne) Romp of Stanhope, IA, brother, Michael (Aledia) Gabrielson of Lambertville, MI, sister, Teresa (Dennis) Hubbel of Bonner Springs, KS, daughter, Angela Gabrielson Edgerton of Fort Dodge, IA. Grandchildren: Jena Edgerton of Otho, IA, Ajay Edgerton of Fort Dodge, IA and Elly Habben of Fort Dodge, IA. Great grandchild: Ryan Edgerson.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Main St., Jewell, IA later this year.
