One dead in crash north of this city

Brad Grant is victim of crash

A Webster City man was killed last night in a two vehicle accident that occurred north of Webster City and brought injuries to two other persons involved.

Bradley J. Grant, 22, 207 Edgewood Dr., was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He had been a passenger in a car driven by Danelle J. Stephenson, 22, 1544 Division St.

Stephenson was taken by rescue squad to the Hamilton County Hospital for treatment of a fractured leg and arm. She was later transferred to a Des Moines hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck, Anthony R. Nessa, 25, Woolstock, was treated for minor injuries and released.

The accident occurred around 6:30 last night, 4 1/2 miles north of Webster City on county road R-33.

The accident was investigated by Sheriff Jerry Farnham, Dep. Lyle Seiser and Police Officer Kenneth Aldridge.

The investigation of the accident is continuing.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home for Brad Grant, with the Rev. James F. Hanke, Jr., officiating.

The body will be cremated and burial of the ashes will be at a later date.

Bradley John Grant, son of Melvin and Beverly Granzow Grant, was born Aug. 2, 1961 at Marengo, Iowa, and moved to Webster City with his parents when he was two years old.

He was educated in Webster City, graduating from high school with the class of 1980.

He was a printer at Grant Press, and assisted his parents in that firm.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Michael (Krista) Lamfers of Sumner, Iowa; a niece, Kelsey Lamfers; and his grandmothers, Mrs. Leone Granzow of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Rosa Grant of Williamsburg, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.

He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist church.
