Chad Peterson, 30, Stratford, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000 at home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wed. Dec 13 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell with Rev. Dale Peterson to officiate. Burial with military honors provided by the Ames American Legion Post will be at the Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth. A memorial fund has been established for cancer research. Gifts may be sent to 3510 Nelson Avenue in Jewell. Becker Funeral Home in Jewell is in charge of funeral arrangements. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.

Chad Brent Peterson was born September 21, 1970 in Story City to Dennis and Doris (Nelson) Peterson. He was a graduate of South Hamilton High School. He was a veteran of the Persian Gulf Operation Desert Storm, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a service technician for Ames Heating and Cooling.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah of Stratford; his stepdaughter, Kellie, his parents, Dennis and Doris Peterson; a brother, Carlyle Peterson; a sister, Carleen Larson, Jewell, and his grandmother, Ruth Pelissier, Ames.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ingolf and Laura Nelson, Carlyle B. Peterson and a step grandfather, Phil Pelissier.
