Gale H. Miller, 79, Tampico, Ill., died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Ill. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico, Ill., with Rev. Les Funderburg to officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Gale H. Miller was born on May 26, 1921 in Stanhope, the son of Arville and Jessie M. Craig Miller. He married Iola V. Fortune on Dec. 7, 1940 at Webster City. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company in Sterling, Ill. for 39 years and retired in 1978. He was also employed by the village of Tampico for many years and was involved in digging hundreds of graves in the local cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Iola, Tampico, Ill., two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary and Bev Miller, Morrison, Ill., and Peter Miller of Tampico; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Ronald Sharp of Tampico, Donna Johnson of Rock Falls, Ill., and Karen and Tom Hall of Tampico; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ardella Herzog of Bell Flower, Calif., Rosella Flaus [Flaws] of Woolstock; several nieces and nephews.

[his father is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City and his mother is buried in Cass Center Cemetery, rural Webster City]
