Kari Cook, 44, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at MercyOne in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the funeral home.

Kari Anne Widick, daughter of Jerry and Barbara (Frost) Widick, was born October 14, 1977 along with her twin sister, Karla, in Fort Dodge. She attended school in Webster City. On February 26, 2008, Kari was united in marriage to Archie Gotch Cook, the love of her life and they made their home in Webster City. To this union a son was born, Jackson. She had worked at Opportunity Village as a Certified Nurse’s Aide prior to her failing health.

Kari’s love for life was evident in how she treated people as she never knew a stranger. Give her the time of day and she could talk for hours. She had a love for the outdoors and the beauty of nature. Kari loved her early morning walks with her husband, Archie. She had a love for baking and cooking and enjoyed sharing that with others. She spent many hours in the car driving on outings with her twin sister, Karla and Archie.

She is survived by her husband, Archie Cook; sons, Jackson Cook of Webster City, Avery Prew of Dakota City, Dakota Prew of Des Moines; parents, Jerry and Barb Widick of Webster City; twin sister, Karla (Toby Short) Widick of Webster City; sister, Amy Widick; stepson, Alex (Ciara) Cook of Otho and their sons, Roman and Fallon; her fur baby kitties, Tillie, Lena, Maddie and Ginger and many numerous aunts, uncles and extended family.

Kari was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harry and Lena Frost; paternal grandparents, Clinton and Alice Widick and cousin, Pam Widick.
