Virginia Mae Yungclas Wold was born at Wayside Farms between Highview and Duncombe on July 7, 1927 to Ethel Wilson Yungclas and William H. Yungclas. She joined three brothers: Reed, Bruce and Don, and later was joined by Tom, Gretchen, Kreg and Billy Bob.

She attended Fremont #9 one room school for the first eight years of her education and then went to Lincoln High School in Webster City where she graduated in 1945. She completed a two year elementary education program at Iowa State Teachers College (now UNI) and taught kindergarten students in several schools in Iowa, Minnesota and California.

She married Roger Wold on August 29, 1950 at the First Congregational Church (now United Church of Christ) in Webster City, where she had been baptized and confirmed. They lived in Webster City on three occasions and their three children: Reed, Mary Anne and Brian were born there. They lived in thirty other locations over their 67 years of marriage, including Minnesota, California, Missouri and Arizona. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She was also active in churches in all the places she lived, was a Hospice volunteer and in PEO.

Virginia died April 16, 2022, in Magalia, CA and was buried next to her husband, Roger, in the Arizona National Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Reed, two daughters-in-law: Terry Wold and Linda Wold, brothers: Reed, Bruce, Don, Tom and Kreg, sister Gretchen Forrester and two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Burke and Patty Yungclas. She is survived by her daughter Mary Anne (Tom) Christensen and son Brian, daughter-in-law Maureen McCay, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother Billy Bob (Barbara), three sisters-in-law: Pat Yungclas, Shirley Yungclas, Sarah Yungclas, one brother-in-law Roger Forrester, and many nieces and nephews.
