Larry Flockhart, 63, of 1106 Washington Street, Stratford, Iowa passed away at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames on Thursday afternoon, July 31, 2003 due to pancreatic complications.

Larry was born on September 6, 1939 in Boone, Iowa, the son of George and Jewell (Miller) Flockhart.

On January 10, 1964, he married Dodie Rigg at Lincoln, NE. Larry attended Boone High School. He was a veteran serving in the Navy. For the past 39 years, starting in April of 1964, he worked for the city of Boone, where he was currently employed at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. He enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the South Marion Methodist Church and the Des Moines River Ridge Riders Club.

Survivors include his wife, Dodie Flockhart of Stratford, Iowa, a son, Trent Flockhart of Stratford, Iowa, one granddaughter, Kelsey Flockhart of Stratford, a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Kay Flockhart of Morristown, TN, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were held on Monday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Stratford Baptist Church in Stratford with Rev. James Mead officiating. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford. Visitation was at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford on Sunday evening and at the Stratford Baptist Church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service. The family was present on Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to greet friends.

Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford was in charge of arrangements.
