Mrs. Marjorie Jean Budde Thomas, 71, passed away at Guest Care Springlake on Sunday, December 1, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2002 in the chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating was Mark Eakin of Odyssey Hospice and Sister Laureen Painter. Interment followed at Forest Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas was a native of Webster City, Iowa and a resident of Shreveport, LA for over 35 years. Mrs. Thomas was a legal secretary and dedicated employee of Lunn, Irion, Salley, Carlisle & Gardner law firm for numerous years.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Amanda Budde of Webster City, Iowa, and husband, William Prather Thomas. She will be sadly missed by family, friends and all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Thomas Gates and husband, Thomas Gates of Coushatta, LA, three sons, William Scott Thomas and wife, Darlene of Kathleen, GA, Tommy Thomas and wife, Sandy of Austin, TX, James Thomas and wife, Debra of Shreveport, seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Heather, Erin, Katie, D'an and Tommy, one great granddaughter, Kaya, and one brother, Richard Budde of Webster City, Iowa.

Pallbearers will be from her longtime employer, Lunn, Irion, Salley, Carlisle and Gardner Law firm; James A. Mijalis, Jack E. Carlisle, Jr., James B. Gardner, Gerald M. Johnson, Jr., Walter S. Salley and J. Martin Lattimer. Honorary pallbearer will be Mr. Charles W. Salley.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Oakwood Home for Women, who have always been good neighbors and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Sue Douglas, friend and caregiver and Odyssey Hospice.
