Les Keeling, age 86 of Webster City, IA, formerly of Brooklyn, IA, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center in Webster City.

Leslie Ordean Keeling was born on November 29, 1935, to parents John and Gladys (Fisher) Keeling in Olaf, IA. He and his eleven siblings were raised in the Clarion, IA, area where he attended a country school.

In November 1954, Les married Shirley Wiltse. To this union four children were born: Roy, Sandra, Brian, and Lynette. They later divorced.

He worked as a foreman at the John Deere plant in Waterloo for thirty years. Les retired on April 30, 1993. It was then that he decided to build a house on Holiday Lake in Brooklyn, IA, where he and long-time companion, Jackie Burt resided.

Les enjoyed doing so many things throughout his life including hunting, camping, playing card games, bowling league, going to casinos, and traveling all over the United States. Les LOVED to fish. Living on the lake after retirement meant that going fishing was now as simple as taking a few steps down the road to which he took full advantage of. His children recall wonderful memories of the 4th of July parties he hosted on the lake every year. They all had so much fun gathering there for a long weekend with all of their families. He also had a soft spot for his dogs, Cricket and Buddy.

Les loved his family above all else. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and loved having them around. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his four children: Roy Keeling of Brooklyn, Sandy (Jim) Hines of Stanhope, Brian Keeling of Webster City, and Lynette Ramos of Williams; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; many other extended family members and friends.

Les was preceded in death by his parents; eleven siblings; son-in-law Fernando Ramos; daughter-in-law JaNele Lindquist; grandsons: Christopher Keeling, Dylan Powell Keeling, and Jordan Leeper.
