Kenny Chalfant, 70, of Webster City, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday.

Kenmore Gerber Chalfant, Jr., son of Kenmore and Thelma Mickle Chalfant, was born April 28, 1934 at Blairsburg. He attended rural schools near Flugstad, Homer and Stratford and also attended Stratford High School. On August 29, 1952 he married Beverly Ann Short at Moline, Il. The couple resided at Moline, Webster City, Jewell, Radcliffe and Woolstock. He was well known for his expertise as a mechanic. He retired and continued on as a self employed mechanic.

Mr. Chalfant is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenmore G. III and Doris Chalfant of Peoria, Az.; Douglas and Sue Chalfant of Glendale, Az.; Burnith and Kimberly Chalfant of Mesa, Az.; Lloyd and Cindy Chalfant of Urbandale; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Michael Carney of Glenwood; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lerry Chalfant of Carson City, Nv.; Vernon Chalfant of Merriam, Ks.; Ronald Chalfant of Plantsville, Ct.; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was baptized in the Methodist faith, was a founding member of the Central Iowa Karting Association and was very active in Go-Karting and promoting youth involvement.
