Bernice Hesseltine, 94, Webster City, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 at Hamilton Hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made through Foster Funeral Home.

Bernice H. Benneweis, daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina Sellheim Benneweis, was born April 27, 1907 at Hensel, N.D. She graduated from Hensel High School and continued her education at Lee School of Beauty in St. Paul, Minn. She worked six months for the school before returning home. On June 7, 1927 she married Everett Leroy Hesseltine at Chariton, Iowa. The couple resided at Park River, N.D., later moving to Humeston, Iowa, and to Webster City in 1930. She worked at Eichman's Clothing for many years. Mr. Hesseltine died March 20, 1977.

Mrs. Hesseltine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Robert Nissen of Webster City, granddaughters and their husbands, Susan Nissen and Randy Holst of Edina, Minn., Holly Nissen and David Rayburn of Arlington, Texas, Carolyn and Keith Vegors of Southlake, Texas, grandchildren, Chad and Robert Hime of Edina, Minn., Jay and Ann Marie Vegors of Southlake, Texas, two nieces and two nephews and several cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Minnie Rickbeil, Bertha Wiedstock, Cecilia Wilyie, brothers Henry C. and John Benneweis.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church and was active in the women's church circles.
