George E. Jenison, 85, lifelong resident of Belmond, died Oct. 20, 2001 at Belmond Health Care Center. Services will be Wednesday at 2p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Belmond. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond.

George was a former employee, postmaster and rural mail carrier in Belmond. He served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II as a gunner on a Black Widow. Survivors are his son, Tom Jenison, Pharr, Texas, a daughter, Susan and Bruce Johnson of Colorado; a brother, Leland and Norma Jeanne Jenison, Belmond; sisters, Ardath Laake, Belmond and Elna and Gary Day, Mason City, a step-son Michael D. and Carla Holt, Iowa Falls; and their children Mikelle, Nicholas and Jonathon; a step-daughter, Pamela and Dennis Doolittle, Williams; and their children, Eric and Grant; also four grandchildren.
