Arthur Carpenter, Story City man, died Saturday

STORY CITY--Arthur T. Carpenter, age 84, of Story City died Saturday, Mar. 13 at the North Grand Care Center of Ames. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Mar. 16 at 1:30 p.m. from the Elim Lutheran Church at Randall with Rev. Donald Berg officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Cemetery.

Born in Roland to T. C. and Julia Carpenter on Jan. 14, 1892, he married Hannah Millang Mar. 3, 1915. He farmed in Hamilton County until he retired in 1950 and moved to Story City.

He is survived by his wife, Hannah, of the North Grand Care Center of Ames; one son, Harold of Ellsworth; one daughter, Ihlene Gertsen of Marion; three grandchildren; two great-grand children; one brother, Jeffrey of Story City; and two sisters: Mrs. Icle Johnson of Moscow, Id., and Mrs. Ruth Olson of Van Nuys, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home of Story City is in charge of arrangements.
