Funeral services for Mrs. Mervin (Shirley) Mourlam, 44, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Byron D. Surface officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Mourlam died early Wednesday morning at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minn. where she had undergone heart surgery on Monday.

Shirley LaVonne Bahrenfuss, daughter of Buryl and Elva Doolittle Bahrenfuss, was born April 18, 1928 at Webster City where she was reared and educated. She attended the former Iowa State Teachers college in Cedar Falls and taught in the rural schools of Hamilton county.

She was united in marriage Nov. 25, 1948 to Mervin Mourlam and the couple made their home on a farm north of Blairsburg. Since 1961 they had lived in Webster City. She was employed at the former Anthony store in Webster City and more recently had been employed at Lee's Glass and China shop.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Stephen, Dennis, Jeffrey and Mark, all of Webster City; her mother Mrs. Elva Bahrenfuss of Webster City; four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Raymond (Leila) Roe, Des Moines, Mrs. Elmer (Mae) Bruns, Mrs. Adolph (Eleanore) Schroeder, Mrs. Lloyd (Jean) Roe, Robert Bahrenfuss, Lee Bahrenfuss and Keith Bahrenfuss, all of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist church.
