Sandra Jacobson, 85, of Jewell passed away August 4, 2021, peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side.

Sandra Jo Jacobson was born January 23, 1936, to Gus and Mary (Rasmussen) Wentzel in Jewell, Iowa. Sandra graduated from Jewell High School in 1953.

On June 8, 1958 she married Lowell Jacobson and to this union there were three children born. Tracy Bell, Jamie Jacobson and Douglas Jacobson.

Sandra spent her many working years at Farmers State Bank which later became First American Bank and the Jewell Mink Plant. She was a member of the Jewell United Church of Christ, the American Auxiliary, the Jewell Golf and Country Club and served as the Treasurer for the Jewell Centennial Committee.

Crocheting and quilting were hobbies she loved. Many baby hats were made and donated to hospitals.

Sandra so loved her coffee group. A daily morning hour and sometimes an afternoon hour with these girls meant so much to her. Over the years, many weekends were spent at the family trailer in Clear Lake which holds a lot of happy memories of family and good friends.

Sandra adored her family and those left to cherish her memory are, children, Tracy and Bernie Bell, Jamie Jacobson and Debbie Denton, grandchildren, Jalyn Bell, Tarin and Danielle Weipert and so very much loved great granddaughter, Brexlie Layne Weipert, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Louise Jacobson and nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell, of 62 years, son, Douglas (Stacie) Jacobson, her parents, brother, William Wentzel, sisters, Eva Miller and Mildred Lindquist and brothers-in-law, Ray Miller and Howard Norton.

Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Jewell, Iowa, the Doug “Jake” Jacobson Wildlife Foundation through Hamilton County or the Jewell Fire and Rescue.
