Virginia Claude, 98, of Webster City, died on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Van Dies Medical Center in Webster City, Iowa. Services will be held at a later date. Memorial may be sent to Christian Service camp (19268 Forest Ave, Dumont, IA 50625). The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Virginia was born on March 5, 1923, to Arthur and Esther (Samuelson) Anderson. She graduated from the Webster City High School in 1940, then went on to attend the Cedar Falls Normal Training to become a teacher. Virginia was married to Marvin Lyle Claude on February 5, 1944, in Webster City, IA. She was a career Navy wife moving around with Marvin from 1942 until 1961.

Virginia taught Sunday School for many years and was most recently a member of the New Testament Church of Christ in Webster City. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Her family includes her three daughters: Jacqueline (Harry) Laun of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Mary Elinor Kuhn of Paint Lick, KY, Cynthia Claude-Rawson of Webster City, IA; seven grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009; son-in-law Jake Kuhn; daughter Linda Banker; six siblings; five infant siblings; and a grandson in infancy.
