Jerrilee J. Arnold – age 86, of Plover, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Jerrilee Jean Hott was born on October 7, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas. She was the daughter of Orville and Louise (Dahlem) Hott. Jerri attended a small 2 room grade school, graduating from East High School of Wichita in 1952. She attended Kansas State in Manhattan for 2 years, studying interior design. This is when she met Bernard Arnold. They dated for 8 months before uniting in marriage on November 27, 1954 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas. Bernard and Jerri first shared a home with Bernard’s dad and 2 brothers, Norman and Gary, north of Kamrar before moving to a farm by Highview and then a farm southeast of Kamrar. Their final move was in 1970 when they bought their farm west of Plover. Jerri was a loving, dedicated and hard working farm wife and mother. When the farming crisis hit in the ’80s, Jerri went to work at the Pocahontas Care Center where she was head cook for many years, retiring in 1996. The residents always appreciated her old school cooking, especially when she would make them liver and onions.

Jerri was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church, she was a 4-H leader, she loved to read, sew, cook (especially scotcheroos), and do finishing touches on their specialized woodworking projects.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard; children, Bruce (Cindy) Arnold of Havelock, Brad (Linda) Arnold of Havelock, Jean (Steve) Trimble of Havelock, Brian (Michelle) Arnold of Riverside and Brent (Tami) Arnold of LeMars; grandchildren, Brittany Arnold, Christopher Arnold, Stephanie Nedved, Amber Macdonald, Brandon Arnold, Heidi Brenden, Ashley Egertsen, Lindsey McGargill, Molly Trimble, Austin Arnold, Garrett Arnold, Spencer Arnold, Zane Arnold, Bryce Arnold, Whitney Arnold and Asher Arnold; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Gail) Hott of Mays Landing, NJ, sisters-in-law, Pat Arnold and Becke Arnold and brother-in-law, Sterling Isvik.
