Don R. Best, 90, of Webster City died on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Southfield Wellness Community. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Donald R. Best was born on April 11, 1930 to Ray and Lola (McCollough) Best in Webster City, IA. Don graduated from Webster City Senior High School in 1948. Donald R. Best was united in marriage to Darlene Evelyn Hensley on Friday, March 13, 1953. Don served in the Iowa National Guard for 10 years. He then worked selling automobiles for Christenson for 25 and a half years. Don started his own company, Best Auto Sales, and managed it for 17 and a half years. Don was a talented golfer and charter member at Briggswoods Golf Course.

Don is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Kirk (Pam) Best, Kreg Best, and Kristi (Milton) Mendoza; grandchildren, Jason, Chad, Kaitlin, Kelli, Andrew, Jessie, and Heidi; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lola; and his sister, Betty (George) Ringer.

Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
