Donald M. Caquelin (Tom), 77, of Woolstock, Iowa, died Saturday, August 4, 2001 at his home.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2001 at the Faith United Methodist Church at 2020 Superior St. in Webster City, with the Rev. Brian Carter and Pastor Gerald Caquelin officiating. Visitation with the family will be at 10 a.m.

Donald M. Caquelin was born on March 8, 1924 in Woolstock, Iowa, the son of Henry G. and Cecile M. (Sadler) Caquelin. He was a graduate of Woolstock High School in 1942. Following his education, he served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe and received numerous decorations and commendations. On July 26, 1946 he was united in marriage to Ruth A. Boucher of Webster City. During the first few years of their marriage they made their home in Webster City and then moved to Woolstock in 1955 where they raised their four children. Donald (Tom) was a long time employee of the Farmers COOP Elevator in Woolstock until he retired in 1989. He was committed to his community. He served as a fireman and Fire Chief of the Woolstock Volunteer Fire Department, Adjutant of the local American Legion Post, and as a board member on the Wright County Emergency Board which established the 911 Emergency System for Wright County. He enjoyed making woodcrafts as a hobby.

Donald is survived by his wife, Ruth (Boucher) Caquelin; three sons, Donald D. and wife JuDee, of Westminster, MD, Bruce of Bode, IA, Jim and wife Marlys of Durham, NC; and daughter Peggy of Columbia, MO; three sisters, Phyllis Hoffman and husband Ivan of Rudy, AR, Joann Biggs and husband Melvin of Webster City, IA, Shirley Campbell and husband Joe of Clarion, IA; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Caquelin of Woolstock, Romona (Caquelin) Carlson of Rutland, IA; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Lewis, Maynard, Lowell (Bud), Eugene (Gene) and John and a sister-in-law, Betty.

Donald attended the Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City. He was a good man and loved his wife and children very much. He will be greatly missed.
