Hattie Adams, 98, Webster City, died Friday, July 20, 2001 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Buffington to officiate. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m.

Hattie Viola Adye, daughter of George and Lilly Maddux Adye, was born Nov., 25, 1902 at Wapello. She graduated from Wapello high school in 1922. She was employed at the Louisa County Courthouse as an administration clerk. On March 29, 1930 she married Lee Johnston Adams at Davenport. The couple resided at Decorah for six years and then moved to Wisconsin, St. Paul, Minn., Fort Dodge and to Webster City in 1943. She worked with her husband in the Adams Feed and Fuel Company as a bookkeeper. Mr. Adams died on April 18, 1979.

Mrs. Adams is survived by a son, Jack Adams, Webster City, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Stanard of Clear Lake and Tucson, Az; grandchildren, Paul Stanard of San Francisco, CA., Zachary and Kim Adams, Jacob Adams, all of Webster City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mattie McChesney; and brother, Frank Adye.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Webster City.
