Curtis L. Green, 58, Eagle Grove, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001 while vacationing at Red Lake, Ontario, Canada. Funeral services were held July 16 at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Rev. William Ballard, Chaplain of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.

Curtis L. Green was born at Belmond on Oct. 24, 1942 to Harry and Esther Modderman Green. He graduated from Webster City High School. On Nov. 24, 1962 he was married to Judy Deakman in Fort Dodge. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1967, and Curt managed the Gulf Service Station. He began serving Eagle Grove police officer and retired from the Eagle Grove Police Department as police Chief in the year 2000 after 33 years of service to the community. Curt was a member of the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church. He promoted the Dare Program and was an accomplished law enforcement officer.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, and two daughters, Lisa Brim and husband Todd of Blairsburg, Kristina (Tina) Breckenridge and husband James of Fort Worth, Texas, four grandsons, Dustin Breckenridge, Beau Breckenridge, Jacob Brim and Noah Breckenridge; two brothers, Richard and wife Janet of Webster City, Bruce and Diane from Ames, and one sister, Peggy and husband Carl Janssen from Weatherford, Texas. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sister, Judith Grove.
