TWO KILLED IN ACCIDENT NORTH OF BLAIRSBURG

A Webster City man and his grandmother were killed in a two-vehicle accident shortly after 5 p.m. Friday north of Blairsburg.

Timothy Seiser, 32, and Mary Irene Seiser, 77, both of Webster City, were killed when Seiser failed to yield or stop from a stop sign at a rural intersection with Highway 69, according to the Iowa Highway Patrol.

Mr. Seiser was driving a 1990 Chevy Prizm westbound on C-70, about five miles north of Blairsburg in Wright County, when he went through the stop sign. A 1991 Chevy truck driven by Philip Eller, Hubbard, was southbound on Highway 69 when Seiser pulled onto the highway and Eller attempted to avoid the collision, but made contact, striking the passenger side of the Seiser vehicle, according to patrol reports.

Eller was not injured.

Funeral services for both Timothy and Irene Seiser will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Tuesday until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, when the caskets will be taken to the church.

The accident was investigated by the Iowa Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Wright County Sheriff's Department and rescue crews from Williams, Clarion and Eagle Grove.

Irene Seiser, 77, Webster City, died April 19, 1996 as the result of a two car accident at the intersection of C-70 and 69, east of Woolstock. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City, with Rev. Bill Van Nostrand and Vicar Mark Follett officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Tuesday until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, when the casket will be taken to the church.

Mary Irene Simpson, daughter of George and Mary Walterman Simpson, was born Oct. 12, 1918 in Webster City. She received her education in Kamrar. On Aug. 5, 1938 she married William H. Seiser in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City and she was a cook in the Webster City school system for several years. She retired in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband in May of 1986 and continued to reside in Webster City.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Seiser, Richard and Lorilee Seiser and Robert Seiser, all of Webster City, James and Shirley Seiser, Boone; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Ohio Simpson, Webster City; step-brother, Harley Simpson, Dows; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons; brothers, George, Floyd, Marion and Robert Simpson; and step-brother, Alfred Simpson.
