Richard G. Boor, 62, Williams, died Saturday, July 7, 2001 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Assembly God Church in Ames with Pastor Gary Pilcher officiating. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be in the Northlawn Cemetery in Iowa Falls.

Richard G. Boor was born December 22, 1938, the son of James Ross and Reletta (Wheeler) Boor. He grew up in Osceola and graduated from high school in Leon, Iowa. He worked at the Rath Packing Plant in Waterloo for four years. He married Joan Weaver, Williams, on November 5, 1960. He moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1962 where he worked in the banking business. He moved to Williams in 1986. He most recently worked at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames as an assistant to the construction managers, retiring in 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, daughters, Kandy Boor, Sherwood, Arkansas, Rebecca Frank, Iowa Falls; sons Aaron Boor, Jewell, Ben Boor, Farmington, Minnesota; fifteen grandchildren; brothers Maurice Boor, Door River, Minn., and Gerald Boor, Alden; six sisters, Helen Meyer, Iowa Falls, Althea Anderson, Williams, Norma Alderdyce, Coulter, Marilyn Venner, Williams, Carolyn Hoversten, Iowa Falls and Nancy Barnhart, Iowa Falls; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bernard Boor.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ames. He also established the Riverside Ministries (Southern Gospel Singing).
