Josh Dakin, 18, 1816 140th Boone, died Sunday, July 1, 2001 at Iowa Methodist Hospital as a result of injuries from a car accident. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 712 12th St., Boone. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, 1407 Kate Shelley Drive, Boone.

Josh Dakin was born March 28, 1983 and was the son of Steve Dakin and Dorothy Dakin, both of Boone. He was a graduate of Boone High School, was an honor student and was active in FFA and other activities.

Survivors are his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Gina Dakin of Ames, grandmother, Margaret Dakin of Webster City and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
