Inez Brouwer, 83, Thornton, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997. Graveside services were held Monday at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, with Rev. Martin Ingebretson officiating.

Inez J. Branch, daughter of Attie and Anna (Hansen) Branch, was born Aug. 10, 1914 in Stanhope. She attended school in the Stanhope school system. Following graduation she received her education in Des Moines to become a beautician and went to work in Waterloo. She married Clarence Brouwer in the Little Brown Church at Nashua on Nov. 7, 1939. They lived in California and Arizona before settling in Thornton where they lived for the last 13 years.

She is survived by three sisters, Pauline Nelson, Riverdale, Ill., Jean Hanson, Elbow Lake, Minn., and Ruth Gage, Marshalltown; one brother, Bill Branch, Davenport, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
