Louis G. Abbas, 58, Woolstock, died Thursday, January 25, 2001 at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at the Grace Evangelical Free church in Eagle Grove at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the French Church Cemetery near Woolstock. Visitation will be from 5-8:30 a.m. Friday at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

Louis Gerald Abbas was born March 26, 1942 to William and Dorothy Brown Abbas in Webster City. He attended school in Webster City and served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. On October 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to Geraldean (Jeri) Yoder at the United Methodist Church in Woolstock. While living in Woolstock, Louis worked at Arrow Acme Corp. in Webster City for 39 years as production and quality assurance supervisor. He was mayor of Woolstock and currently on the city council. Louie was a member of the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove and served as an elder, a Sunday school teacher, was active in Awana, active in the youth department and a leader in Home Bible studies. Louie loved playing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jeri of Woolstock, two sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Sandra Abbas of Adel, and David Abbas of Ames; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Chad Miller of Emmetsburg, five grandchildren, Lauren, Morgan, Kirsten, Jacob and Jordon; his mother, Dorothy Abbas, Webster City; four sisters, Bonnie Abbas of Santiago, Chile, Evelyn and her husband Steve Schrier of Ida Grove, Sharon Abbas, Webster City, Marilyn and her husband Bryan Segerstrom of Waterloo, two brothers, Bill and wife Carol Abbas, South Plainfield, NJ., Larry Abbas and wife Dori of Duncombe. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother.
