Ruth M. Kennedy, 67, of Webster City, died Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the church and prior to services on Friday.

Ruth M. Bock, daughter of Vernon and Alice Jeys Bock, was born April 1, 1933 at Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1951. During this time, she was named twice to the All State Orchestra as a Violinist. On June 16, 1951 she married D. Dick Kennedy, Jr at the Riverside Methodist Church at Fort Dodge. She was employed as an accountant for Dunns, Maudlins and most recently at Van Diest Supply, retiring from full time employment in 1996 but continuing to work part time until the present.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Pat Tate of Webster City, Renee and Jeff Dubberke of Hubbard, sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Joan Kennedy, Dick and Rosine Kennedy, all of Webster City, grandchildren Ryan and Sarah Tate, Tenille and Greg Rogers, Chad and Darci Tate, Jenae, Joel and Karissa Kennedy, Justin, Colleen and Caleb Kennedy, Chelsea and Angela Dubberke, great granddaughter, Kennedy Rogers; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Sterling Moninghoff of Florida, Mary Jo and Donnie Dencklau of Thor, Verna Rae and Don Snell of Manson, Judy Martin of Amarillo, TX., June and Jerry Sankey of Otho, brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Juanita Bock of Fort Dodge, Charles and Joni Bock of Glidden, brother-in-law Duane Birnbaum and wife Norma of Otho, several nieces and nephews, and aunts Mary Wood and Eda Lou Keele, and an uncle, Gene Jeys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Dickie Dean Kennedy and a sister, Pat Birnbaum.

Ruth taught Sunday School at Asbury United Methodist Church for over 20 years, was a former member of the Webster City Police Auxiliary, and served as a board member of the Webster City Municipal Credit Union. She enjoyed activities with her family, including camping, fishing, attending grandchildren's activities, reading, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
