Funeral services for Margaret Whipple, of Dows, Iowa, will be held Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001 at 11 a.m. from the United Methodist Church in Dows with Reverend Tony Hershey officiating. Burial will be in the Northlawn Memory Gardens, Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2001. at the Elledge Funeral home in Dows.

Mrs. Mary Ann Denger will be the organist and Tehra Powers the Soloist. Honorary casket bearers will be Ryan Caquelin and Kaylee Caquelin. Casket bearers will be Joe Caquelin, Danny Caquelin, Brandon Caquelin, Todd Mensing, Jerry Whipple and Jason Conrad.

Margaret died Sunday, January 7, 2001 at the Hamilton County Public Hospital in Webster City, Iowa at the age of 65.

Margaret E. Simpson was born March 6, 1935 at her parents home in rural Williams, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harley E. and Alice C. Larson Simpson. Margaret received her education in the Williams, Radcliffe and Webster City area.

On Dec. 30, 1960 she was united in marriage to John Caquelin. Their marriage later ended in divorce.

On March 12, 1971 she was united in marriage to Roscoe R. Whipple. After their marriage they made their home in rural Boone, Iowa, and in 1982 moved to their present home in Dows, Iowa. Margaret owned and operated the Dows Cafe for about one year and then retired.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dows and the Dows American Legion Auxiliary.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Roscoe, of Dows, two daughters, Kathy and husband Jerry Dixon of Webster City, Pamela Moore and significant other Chris Twedt of Webster City, and three sons, Bill and wife Sandy Caquelin of Webster City, Rodger and wife Tammi Caquelin of Dows and Robert Caquelin and significant other Chrissi Longhenry of Webster City. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Her parents, two sons, Clair and Jerry, and one great granddaughter, in infancy, preceded her in death.

The Elledge Funeral Home in Dows is in charge of arrangements.
