Maurice Eugene Wilcox formerly of Jewell, Iowa - Maurice Wilcox died peacefully on July 11, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, with family members at his side.

Maurice was born March 22, 1936 to James Russell and Nita (Mosbarger) Wilcox. He graduated from Jewell High School, and married Dorothy Swenson on August 18, 1957 in Radcliffe. After serving in the Army, stationed in California, they lived and farmed near Jewell where they raised four daughters: Peggie Wilcox of Lakemont, GA; Dawn (John) Teig of Elkhart, IA; Leslie (Steve) Goins of Smithville, MO and Lynn Johnson of Omaha, NE.

Maurice was a member of Elim Lutheran Church, served on the South Hamilton School Board and the Randall Co-op Board. He drove a semi-truck for several years and was proud of his "Million Miles with No Accidents" award. Maurice was a motorcycle and gun enthusiast, and loved traveling with Dorothy across the United States, including Alaska. They also enjoyed trips to Norway and Australia.

Maurice is survived by his four daughters, eight grandchildren: Jessica Arends, Ivy (Charlie) Million, Lindsay (Nick) Wessels, Dustin Teig, Alison Teig, Ivan Johnson, Moriah Johnson and Madelyn Johnson; three great-granddaughters: Addison Wessels, Grace Wessels and Aurora Million; brother-in-law Jim Ohl, sisters-in-law Marilyn Swenson and Karen Swenson and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his parents, one brother, Virgil Wilcox and son-in-law, Robert Johnson.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life service at Elim Lutheran Church, Randall, Iowa, for both Maurice and Dorothy for a later date when it is safe to travel.
