Wednesday, May 5 and Thursday, May 6, 1982Lawrance J. Kirchoff, 73, of Ames, a former Webster City resident, died Tuesday at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 Douglas, Ames, with the Rev. Jordan Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in the Story Memorial Gardens cemetery in Ames. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
Lawrance J Kirchoff was born May 9, 1908 at Hartley, Iowa, son of John and Margaret Kirchoff. He moved to Ames with his parents as a child, later moved to Eagle Grove in 1949 and then to Webster City in 1953.
He was graduated from Ames high school and attended Iowa State University. He was a civil engineer and owned and operated the Currie Engineering Co. in Webster City.
He was married to Lulu Erickson Feb. 15, 1935 at Maryville, Mo.
She preceded him in death March 3, 1970.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Kirchoff of Rural Route 3, Webster City, Jon Kirchoff of Des Moines and Joseph Kirchoff of Creston; one daughter, Laurel Jan Greenfield of Aurora, Colo.; one stepson, Harold Thompson; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Ann Peterson of Des Moines; a sister, Alice Hanson of Detroit; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Arthur, and by his parents.
