Maxine Stover, 94, of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in Webster City. Visitation will be 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the church. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in care of arrangements.

Maxine Ellen Augusta Blosser was born February 23, 1926 to Albert and Clara Nornholm Blosser. She was baptized and confirmed at the Swede Valley Lutheran Church in the faith which she maintained lifelong. She was a graduate of Stanhope High School. May 18, 1944 she married Harold Elston Bentley. She worked side by side with Harold farming, choring, & gardening. He preceded her in death September 27, 1975, She then moved to Webster City where she worked 3 years at the Webster City Schools in the cafeteria. She married Kenneth Stover January 31, 1982 & moved to the Riceville area.They wintered in Arizona over 30 years and had many good times. Kenneth preceded her in death Nov. 2015. She then moved to Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton to be closer to her daughter.

She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower bed making sure the flowers were all height appropriate so you could see every flower. She was a great seamstress, cook and baker. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies which she always had and endless supply of in the freezer. She enjoyed crocheting, playing all types of card games, playing yahtzee, and doing word search puzzles.

She endured many hardships and deaths of loved ones, but with her shining Christian faith she maintained her positive, pleasant, loving personality. She was never without a smile which is what she will be so fondly remembered by. She was definitely the rock of our family.

She is survived by 3 children: Kay (Ron) Hertzler, Diane (Ron) Weldin, and Albert (Kristi) Bentley, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 4 stepchildren, 14 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, both husbands, grandson Kyle and Great Granddaughter Maren Mae.
