November 21, 2019Carla Jean Crippen Wahlers passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 in Sulphur Springs,Texas.
Carla was born in Britt, Iowa to Wesson Carlyle & Mable Marshall Crippen. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1946 and attended junior college in Cincinnati, Ohio. After returning to Webster City, she worked for the telephone company until her retirement She married Darrell (Coke) Wahlers on January 6, 1950. She is survived by Jennifer (David) Espinoza, Kamrar; Janice (Stephan) Dickinson, Cedar Rapids; Donald Wahlers, Emory, Texas; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Dorothy Burckle and Margaret Elliott, brother Marshall Crippen, and daughter-in-law Carol Wahlers.
Carla was very proud to be a founding member and mentor of Webster City Community Theatre and the instigator of the Repertory Theatre where she used her talents to write skits and programs. She was a member of Webster City Garden Club and Asbury United Methodist Church.
Following her wishes, there will be no services. Memorials may be sent to Kendall Young Library or Webster City Community Theatre.
The family would like to express a huge thank you to Dr. Subash Sahai for all his years of love and care for our mother. Thank you to Don for being her caregiver for almost 5 years after Dad passed. You made her life better right to the end.
