Monte McCoskey age 68 formerly of Webster City passed away at his residence in Franklin, TN September 27, 2019, after a lingering illness. Monte, the son of Margaret and Henry McCoskey, was born December 18, 1950, in Webster City. A few years later his widowed mother married Carl Rhoer of Webster City who adopted Monte. He attended public schools in Webster City graduating from Lincoln High School, and attending Webster City Community College before attending the University of Iowa. He spent his working career in the wholesale plumbing supply industry in Iowa and Tennessee, retiring in 2016. Monte was a gentle, kind person with an infectious laugh who was loved by family, and very well-liked by his friends and colleagues. He enjoyed golf, reading, and writing including chronicling his stepfather’s WWII experiences. He will be greatly missed by all. Monte is survived by his brother Bryan (Bonnie) McCoskey of Chanhassen, MN., nephew Jeffrey McCoskey of Chaska MN., niece Kristen (Peter) Martin of Eden Prairie, MN and three grand nieces. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Cremation handled by Neptune Society in Brentwood, TN.
