Allan Jorth, 71, of Webster City, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Foster Chapel, with Pastor John Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Concordia Cemetery at Joice, Iowa. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.
Allan Reuben Jorth, son of Oscar and Elizabeth Beck Jorth, was born June 23, 1934 at Fostoria, Iowa. He attended Milford High School, graduating in 1952. On March 16, 1952 he married Darlene Marchand at Milford. He was the bookkeeper at the Terril Cooperative, manager at the Vincent Cooperative from 1959 to 1972 and the Joice Cooperative from 1972 to 1977. On December 31, 1977, he married Sharyl Johnson Anonson at Webster City. From 1977 until his retirement in 1996, he was general manager of the Webster City United Cooperative. Sharyl died May 14, 2006.
Al is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Randy Schulze of Forest City; Terri and Rob Inouye of Cedar Falls; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Jorth of Kalamazoo, MI; Randy and Cindy Jorth of Joice; stepchildren, Jill Anonson of Des Moines; Jake and Jill Anonson of West Des Moines; Jon and Kelly Anonson of Urbandale; grandchildren, Jeff and Kari Jorth; Brent and Amanda Jorth; Derek Thompson; Peter Jorth; Sylvia Jorth; Erin Inouye; step-grandchildren, Keara, Matilynn, Camryn and Claire Anonson; great-grandsons, Jaxson and Carter Jorth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylia Foreman of Jacksonville, FL; Marjorie and Don Wahlgren of Gowrie; Polly Hahn of Hampton, NE; Alice and John Blake of Madrid, Spain; Carol and Don McMurray of Coatsville, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Sharyl, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold, Curtis and Ray Jorth.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Webster City Country Club and the Wobbly Old Retired Managers Club.
