Lawrence Nova Rohret, the son of Thomas and Betty Burnett Rohret, was born July 20, 1949 in Iowa City. His childhood years were spent in Cosgrove, IA, where he received his education and graduated from Cosgrove Community High School. Following graduation, Larry worked for Hy-Vee for a short time before attending Muscatine Community College. While attending school, he worked part-time at the County Care Facility. Larry later transferred to the University of Northern Iowa where he graduated in 1974 with a BA in Social Work.

Larry was a social worker with the Dept. of Human Services in Polk County until 1978, when he went to work as the Director of Story County Care Facility.

On November 24, 1984, Larry was united in marriage to Tere Bagnall, in Nevada, IA. In 1987, they moved to Spencer where he was the Executive Director for Upper Des Moines Opportunity.

In his free time Larry enjoyed watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, fine dining and his English Setter, 'Queenie.' Most of all Larry loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

On February 8, 2006, Larry passed away unexpectedly at his home at the age of 56. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Betty Rohret, formerly of Iowa City.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tere Rohret, of Spencer, IA; two daughters: Sarah Rohret Odoom of Arnolds Park, IA and Elizabeth Rohret of Nevada, IA; two grandchildren, Kenneth and Catherine Odoom; six brothers and sisters; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
