Dottie Parkhill, 66, of Webster City, Iowa, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at her home.

Dottie's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City, with a prayer service and time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Cass Township Cemetery, rural Webster City. Dottie Louise Parkhill was born on May 30, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Lois and Barbara (Sego) Martin.

On June 30, 1973, Dottie was united in marriage to Denny Parkhill at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City. To this union, four sons were born: Marty, Scott, Troy, and J.R.

Dottie was employed as a school bus driver for Webster City Schools for many years and later worked as store manager of the 2001 Video Store until retiring due to ill health. Her hobbies included crafts, baking and cooking. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with loved ones.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Denny Parkhill of Webster City, Iowa; three sons, Marty (Chris) Parkhill of Webster City, Iowa, Scott (Dee) Parkhill, and J.R. Parkhill both of Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; five brothers, Rick (Kathy) Martin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ed (Gwen) Martin of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Loys (Janet) Baetke of Ladora, Iowa, Ron (Julie) Griesse of San Marcos, California, and Lonnie; two sisters, Connie (Lowell) Rutz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and RoxAnne (Robert) Hiam of Castle Rock, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Cleo (Louis) Young of Austin, Kentucky; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Troy in March of 2005.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
