Arne Fagervik, 73, of Blairsburg, died Thursday, September 7, 2017. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational-Blairsburg with Reverend Paul Fischer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Arne Wayne Fagervik, son of Arne Johan and Astrid Ingeborg Dahlquist Fagervik, was born February 29, 1944 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Williams High School in 1962. Arne received his degree from Drake University with a Major in History and Minor in English. He taught for one year in Missouri before being drafted in the United States Army during Vietnam. He married Kathryn Eileen Arbaugh on June 26, 1976 in Webster City. The couple resided in Blairsburg. Arne worked at the Blairsburg Co Op for 34 years delivering propane. After they were purchased by Star Energy he was employed there for five more years until his retirement in March of 2010.

Arne is survived by daughters, Sarah (Burke Risetter) Fagervik of Webster City, Debbie Fagervik of Webster City, Jenny (Bart) Loughry of Waterloo, Heidi Fields of Marion; three grandchildren, Ben Youngdale, David and Maja Gordon; brother, Roger (Sheri) Fagervik of Blairsburg; nephews and nieces, Dan (Kimn) Fagervik, Rhonda (Tom) Richardson, Chad (Lea) Fagervik, Angie Fagervik Chia, Eric (Tracie) Fagervik and many extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kathy.

Arne was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational-Blairsburg and very active on the church board. He was on the Blairsburg City Council, the Blairsburg Volunteer Fire Department, the Blairsburg Lions Club and the Williams Library Board.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the United Church of Christ Congregational-Blairsburg or the Williams Library.
