Douglas William Jacobson was born April 12, 1965 to Lowell and Sandra (Wentzel) Jacobson in Story City, Iowa. Doug graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1983 and then went on to graduate from Iowa State University. He worked as a plant manager for Tasler Inc. in Webster City for the past 20 years.

There was no greater joy for Doug than being outdoors. Doug was an avid hunter and fisherman and overall outdoorsman. His entire life was centered around maintaining the perfect buck, or the largest fish. Doug also took many long trips to Montana, Ohio and even to Canada to follow his passion. While, of course, meeting many new people and making friends along the way.

Doug and Stacie Ryan were married August 13, 2016 in Jewell - which also included the joys of having two grandsons, Jaxson (4 yr.) and Bryson (9 mo.), who made his role of Papa his favorite in the world. Doug is survived by his wife, Stacie Jacobson of Webster City; his step-daughters, Miranda (Chris) Sliefert and their sons, Jaxson and Bryson of Sac City and Katelyn Ryan of Lake View; his parents, Lowell and Sandra Jacobson of Jewell; his sister, Tracy (Bernie) Bell of Jewell and their children, Tarin (Danielle) Wiepert and Jalyn Bell; and his sister, Jamie Jacobson (Debbie Denton) of Lakewood, CO.

A memorial has been established in his name.

Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home in Jewell is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences and photos may be shared at www.soderstrumfuneralhome.com
