Sharon Grace Hamman, 71, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Thursday October 17, 2013 in Mason City, IA. A visitation will be Monday 2 – 4 at Boman Funeral Home in Webster City, IA. A memorial service will be held Thursday October 24 - 1:30 PM at First United Methodist Church in Mt Pleasant with Rev. David Bracht officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Center Cemetery near Webster City. www.bomanfh.com.

She was born on November 1, 1941 in Mt Pleasant to Leon Marshall & Grace (Stull) Marshall Abrahamson. Sharon attended school through 10th grade in Mt Pleasant and graduated from Olds High School in 1960. She was educated as a certified med tec. She married Jack Barber. They had four children and divorced in 1983. She and Lyle Hamman were married April 15, 1983. They moved to Colorado in 1985.

She worked in the nursing field. Sharon enjoyed sewing, baking and volunteering her time. She was a member of Dott’s Club, Woodland Park Senior Club and the Mountain View United Methodist Church all of Colorado. In March of this year they moved back to Iowa because of her health.

Her family includes: her husband of 30 years; four children George (Alisha) Barber & Jacque (Tim) Lake all of Salem, IA, Sam (Becky) Barber of Belize & Sharon Gail Barber of Salem, IA; nine grandchildren; and sister Cora Glover of Mt Pleasant. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers (Van & Leon) & sister (Lenora).
