Del Klaver, 72, of Webster City, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Mary Greeley Medical Center at Ames. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Foster Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., June 23, 2013 at the First Congregational-U.C.C. with Rev. Craig Blaufuss officiating.

Delmar Harm Klaver, son of Harm and Esther Mamminga Klaver, was born at home on June 23, 1940 in Blairsburg, IA. He received his education in Kamrar Public School, University of Northern Iowa and Truman State University. On September 10, 1966, he married Jane Ann Dodd in Missouri. He began his teaching career at Clear Creek Community Schools, Oxford, IA, and then moved to Webster City, teaching at Webster City Junior College. He continued with Iowa Central Community College until his retirement in 2002. Until 2006 he taught part-time for Buena Vista University at the Fort Dodge campus.

Del is survived by his wife, Jane; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Jill Klaver of Ankeny; grandsons, Keegan, Kane and Kolin Klaver; brother, Lee Klaver of Kamrar; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Larry Kramer of Poulsbo, WA; mother-in-law, Olive Dodd of Webster City; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harlan Klaver.

He was a past member of the Webster City Lion's Club and the Lepers' League. His pastimes were reading, hunting, fishing and golf.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made at the family's discretion.
